Raven quickly shook her head, looking a bit bewildered. "I don't know? Maybe it's from a morning appointment. |
wasn't here at that time, so | don't know who
answered the call!"
Reese glanced at Molly, who was struggling to hide her smirk, and immediately understood.
Molly seemed to have tried tricking Mariel and then explain the situation. However, she didn't expect her target
to be so quick-witted.
Reese couldn't help but gloat at her situation.
Molly's expression changed repeatedly upon realizing she had been outwitted, and she heard giggles from the
design department.
She couldn't bear the embarrassment and turned back toward Reese, her voice resentful, "Reese, | answered the
call for you this morning. A client is here. Why don't you attend to them?"
Reese curled her lips and replied nonchalantly, "Oh, really? Thanks then!"
Molly's face twisted in frustration. She glared at Reese and returned to her seat. Reese stood up and walked over

Mariel was taken aback, staring at Reese's face with changing expressions.
Never in her wildest dreams had she thought that Lukas's companion from last night was none other than Reese.
She had just mentioned that she was there to meet Reese for a design, only to be caught off guard. She was now
afraid of being ridiculed!
Her face turned cold, and she glared at Reese with a stern expression.
Reese, knowing that Mariel was probably annoyed, spoke with a cheerful smile, "Shall we go to the meeting
room?"
Mariel stared at Reese, her eyes narrowing as she contemplated the situation. She then turned and walked
towards the meeting room.
Once inside, Mariel turned to Reese, her face grumpy and her tone sharp, "So, you're Reese?"
Reese nodded, "That's me!"
Mariel huffed in disbelief, "I thought you had no idea who Lukas's companion was, but it turns out you were the
one pulled out from scorner!"
Reese chuckled, "Now you know!"
Reese wasn't upset at all. Mariel's words were like an angry punch thrown at a cotton ball.
Mariel continued to glare at Reese, her voice annoyed, "Aren't you angry?"
Reese laughed, "Why should | be? We haven't offended each other, and your attitude isn't a big deal to me. |
figure it's because of Mr. Strakovski that you're upset, notpersonally!"
Mariel let out a sigh of relief, then plopped down on the sofa, her face sulking, "So frustrating! Forget it, let me
take a look at your previous design drafts!"
Reese nodded and handed over the original sketches she had.
Mariel flipped through a few pages, then looked up with a hint of astonishment, "I didn't expect you to have

Reese chuckled, "Without true skill, relying solely on hype will lead to fleeting success at best!"
Mariel nodded in agreement, "You make a good point! | didn't realize... you're not quite what | thought!"

Reese smiled but remained silent.
Mariel placed the design drafts on the table, "I've decided. I'm getting engaged soon, and | want to customize
sjewelry for myself. Showyour designs. As long as they look good, it's fine. | don't have many
requirements!"
Reese raised an eyebrow, "That is your only requirement?"
Mariel's eyes flickered, "Yes, just this one requirement. If | have more later, I'll explain them to you."
Reese nodded, and the two of them quickly signed the contract.
Mariel was quite witty herself. She used the contract to fan the air a couple of times and couldn't help but
exclaim, "It seems like I'm spending money to buy boredom today!"
Reese was amused and puzzled, "But isn't this about customizing private jewelry? How is boredom related to
that?"
Mariel's face was radiant, a bit flamboyant. She pouted, "Looking at your face is just boring. So yes, boredom is
related!"
Reese was utterly defeated. This forced explanation left her speechless!
