Chapter 108:

Belinda quickly shook her head. “Nothing happened.”

Much to her dismay, Fluffy had been given to Kristopher by Darren. Observing her panic-stricken and sorrowful

face, Kristopher couldn't suppress a smile.

Indeed, ever since she had requested his help to locate the cat the previous night, he had suspected Darren was

not being truthful. Her clear response now unexpectedly brought him satisfaction.

He stood up and said, “I was under the impression you no longer cared for Fluffy.”

Belinda shook her head vigorously and reached for a tissue to wipe her face. “How could | possibly not want

him?”

The little cat represented her last bit of emotional attachment and dependence in the world. She might consider

giving up on herself, but never on Fluffy.

Kristopher noticed Belinda’s eyes were red. He smirked and walked over, casually draping an arm around her

shoulders. “Let's go find him now,” he suggested, guiding her toward the door.

Belinda sniffled and followed him out without thinking.

It was only when they entered the elevator that she managed to gather her emotions.

Once composed, she realized she was still in the elevator with Kristopher’s arm around her shoulders.

The closeness felt too intimate, especially for a couple on the verge of divorce.

She bit her lip, feeling the impulse to remove his arm.

However, as she began to move, Kristopher tightened his grip.

“Changed your mind about Fluffy?”

Fluffy was always her vulnerability.

Though confused by Kristopher’s intimate behavior, given their impending divorce, she didn’t resist.

Over the past three years, Kristopher had assumed many such liberties with her, making this moment feel all too

familiar.

At that moment, her primary concern was to retrieve Fluffy.

Thus, she found herself sitting in the car, Kristopher’s arm still nonchalantly resting around her shoulders.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the Swan Lake villa.

As she looked at the familiar landscape through the car window, Belinda was flooded with emotions.

It had been over half a month since she left this place with Fluffy following her miscarriage, vowing never to

return.

Yet here she was...

“Get out!”

Kristopher’s deep voice broke into her reverie.

Belinda inhaled deeply and stepped out of the car. Just as she began to walk toward the door, a large hand

clasped her arm.

She paused, assuming Kristopher was about to put his arm around her shoulder again, so she stopped and

waited.

However, this time, he took her hand and led her toward the entrance of the villa.

The warmth from his palm radiated through Belinda’s hand, causing her to frown and glance at the man beside

her, puzzled by his intentions.

Such physical contact had been rare between them before.

Why now...?

“Kristopher, you're back!”

A clear female voice suddenly shattered Belinda’s train of thought. She quickly cto her senses and noticed

that Kristopher had already opened the door of the villa.

Standing inside was Cathy, smiling broadly.

Her hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, and she was dressed in light pink loungewear complemented by a

Hello Kitty apron, spatula in hand.

It was evident that Cathy had settled in and was preparing breakfast for Kristopher.

The scene filled Belinda with a sense of bitterness.

This place, once her marital hwith Kristopher, was a repository of their few joyful memories.

She had not anticipated that Kristopher would allow Cathy to move in so swiftly.

“Kristopher...”

Upon seeing the person beside Kristopher at the door, the initial excitement in Cathy's eyes quickly turned to

coldness and jealousy. “Why did you bring Miss Nelson here?”

Belinda instinctively withdrew her hand from Kristopher’s hold. “I'm here to retrieve my cat.”
