Chapter 119:
Seeing Anthony's grave approach, Cathy clenched her teeth in frustration, a flicker of malice in her eyes. Had it
not been for the old man organizing another meal for Kristopher and Belinda, would she have had to rush here in
such a panic? And now, simply because she had casually declared herself the future Mrs. Cox, he was
relentlessly pursuing the matter?
But hadn't she merely spoken the truth?
If not for Belinda’s cunning, Kristopher would surely have secured their divorce by now.
Shortly after, the butler arrived, accompanied by the security guard. The young, tall guard seemed to shrink, his
head lowered like a scolded child. “Sir, I admit | was wrong to believe the lady and allow her entry.”
Anthony tapped his cane with a sneer. “You need to be clear. Did she claim to be the future Mrs. Cox and coerce
you into letting her in? Or did you assshe would soon hold that title and let her through based on that?”
The security guard hesitated, his gaze involuntarily darting toward Cathy. “This lady here... she toldshe was

“You're lying!” Cathy exclaimed, clutching her chest as if struggling to breathe. “When did | ever say | was the
future Mrs. Cox? Kristopher and Miss Nelson are still married. How could | possibly claim such a thing?”
As she spoke, tears cascaded down her cheeks. “I only mentioned | was here to see Kristopher and asked if you
could letinside...” Kristopher frowned, gently handing her a tissue to dab her tears while casting a frosty look
at the security guard. “Be careful with your words.”
From a distance, Belinda saw the shimmer of Cathy's tears and the anguish in Kristopher’s eyes. She was
internally impressed. Cathy truly had a knack for . She could summon tears at will and express her
emotions with convincing depth.
If she brought such a perfect performance to her work, she’d probably have no problem securing awards in the
future.
Surrounded by those rushing to her defense, Cathy sobbed even more convincingly. “I don’t know who put you
up to this... There were no recordings, no cameras back then, so obviously, your word is law...”

“Who told you there are no recordings, no cameras?” Anthony's scoff cut through her words. “Stanley, pull up
the surveillance footage.”
Frozen, Cathy's hand paused in the act of wiping her tears. She looked up, her eyes darting as she tried to mask
her rising panic. “Anthony, your house... Is there a camera at the gate too?”
When she was with Kristopher, she had frequently visited the Cox family’s mansion. She vividly recalled
Kristopher once confiding in her that Anthony had a strong aversion to being monitored, which was why only a
handful of the villa’'s cameras were real. The rest were mere decoys to deter trespassers.
But how could this be...
“Yes,” Stanley confirmed with a subdued grin. “There was a security overhaul in the villa recently. Mr. Anthony
felt it was pointless to keep those dummy cameras, so he replaced them all with functional ones.” He continued,
ensuring the surveillance was being checked, “Now, there are high-definition cameras monitoring even the area
outside the gates. The footage should include your exchange with the security guard.”
At this revelation, Cathy's face darkened. She had boldly refuted the security guard's allegations, confident in
her knowledge that the cameras at the villa’s entrance were decoys. She firmly believed that their conversation
had been a secret shared only between her and the guard.
But now...
“Miss Miller,” Stanley addressed her seriously. “Should it turn out that this guard has falsely accused you, we'll
terminate his employment immediately.”
At that moment, Allen chuckled. “And what if it turns out that Miss Miller is the one who's been lying?”
