Chapter 141:
It suddenly occurred to Belinda that Kristopher had indeed made this promise before. Her anger just now had
clouded her judgment and made her forget all about it.
Belinda turned to Kristopher with a sigh, a faint trace of regret passing over her face. “What then, Mr. Cox? Are
you here to fulfill your promise? Are you going to sendaway and delete all the photos on the way?”
Instead of replying, Kristopher simply took a deep breath and looked straight ahead with a blank expression.
It was as good as a yes.
Belinda pursed her lips and hesitated. After a moment, she said, “There's actually no need for you to go through
all this trouble. I'm perfectly capable of going back on my own. Just delete the photos right here and now, in
front of me. Make sure to take down all the backup data, too.”
Kristopher glanced at her with narrowed eyes. “So you're unwilling to spend twithtogether?” She was
his wife, for goodness’ sake!
Couldn't he even take her hnow?
Belinda flashed him a sardonic smile. “Look, | just don’t want to get in between you and Miss Miller, that’s all.”
“Nothing you do can affect us,” Kristopher retorted with a sneer.

She blinked as she realized he was right.
She had completely misunderstood her position.

If she truly had the power to interfere between those two in any way, Kristopher and Cathy wouldn't still be
entangled after three years.
With this thought in mind, Belinda no longer felt the need to protest.
He was just taking her home, anyway. It wasn’t as if that single gesture would change anything, so what was the
point in angering him and upsetting herself?
Right on cue, the elevator stopped its descent and opened its doors.
Belinda didn’t even check the floor number. She took a step forward and walked out with her chin held high.
It wasn’t until she was fully out in the hallway that she realized it wasn’t the first-floor lobby.
She looked around in puzzlement. She knew for a fact that she had pressed the button for the first floor.
Belinda huffed slightly and turned to go back inside the elevator, only to run into Kristopher’s tall figure.
He glanced pointedly at her leg. “Are you going to have your leg examined? Or are you going to soldier on
without having it checked?”
Belinda finally looked at the floor number — they were on the hospital's second floor, the area designated for
external and contusion injuries.
“I know my own body better than anyone else does. There is no need for others to worry about my well-being.”
She scowled at Kristopher, then walked around him and into the elevator. She jabbed at the down button again.
“You said that you would takehand delete the photos, right? We didn’t agree to let you accompany me
to check my legs. So, | refuse!”
Yes, she was injured, but her earlier display of weakness wasn't related to it. She had simply been sitting for too
long and was in a bad mood, to boot.
Belinda was definitely feeling much better now, and she was confident that she didn’t need any medical
attention.
Kristopher gritted his teeth as anger swelled in his chest. “Don’t you care about yourself at all? Do you even
realize how many bruises you have on your leg?”
Belinda scoffed. “Like | said, | know my own body. There's no need for an outsider to worry about it.”
Seeing that Kristopher was blocking the elevator entrance, Belinda turned around and walked toward the stairs.
They were only on the second floor, so it shouldn't be that bad taking the stairs all the way down.
Kristopher, on the other hand, seethed at being dismissed as an outsider in her affairs.
“Outsider?” he growled as he grabbed her by the wrist and stopped her from walking away. “Remember, Belinda,
we aren't divorced yet!”
Belinda turned to give him a mocking smirk. “What difference does it make?”
