Chapter 161:
Belinda had no plans to acknowledge him.
She made her way toward the entrance, her expression unchanging. “Belinda,” Kristopher’s deep voice halted
her just as her hand reached for the card to swipe in. “Can we talk?”
She turned, raising an eyebrow. “What's there to discuss? | already told you that I didn’t post those things
online,” she responded icily, her gaze indifferent.
In the past, Belinda’s eyes would sparkle with admiration and joy when she looked at him.
Now, that sparkle was gone, replaced by a look of detachment, as if he were a complete stranger. Kristopher
noticed this striking transformation and felt a pang in his chest, his breath hitching.
It felt like he was losing grip on something precious, unable to prevent its escape.
He hesitated, trying to quell his discomfort. “I'm not here to accuse you. | just want to figure out a way to
manage this mess online.”
Belinda’s eyebrow arched again. “And how do you suggest we do that?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtKristopher’s brow furrowed at Belinda’s icy demeanor.
Belinda, relying on the identity of his wife, had grown increasingly haughty and disdainful.
For over twenty years, no one had dared speak to him with such audacity.
Containing his emotions, Kristopher sidestepped her and made for the door. “This isn’t the place for discussion.
Let’s head upstairs.”
“Mr. Cox.”
Belinda’s voice halted him just as he reached the door. She dashed forward, arms spread wide to block his path.
“Let's talk here. I'm a single woman. It's inappropriate for you to enter my apartment.”
The mention of “single” visibly irked Kristopher.

His eyes narrowed as he shot back coldly, “Are you single?”
“I will be soon.”
Belinda’s lips curved into a faint smile as she met his gaze. “You're here to talk divorce, aren't you, Kristopher?”
He stood motionless, staring at her in silence, his brow creased with a frown.
“You must want a divorce right away and have a backdated divorce agreement ready for us to sign. If the
agreement dates from a month before Cathy returned from abroad, she won't be labeled a mistress by the
public, will she?”
Kristopher’s frown deepened as he regarded her.
It appeared Belinda understood him far better than he had realized. He had not finished speaking, yet she had
already pieced together his intentions.
From the look on Kristopher’s face, Belinda could tell her assumptions were correct.
She lifted an eyebrow, her face a mask of indifference. “If that’s the case, there's no need to act as if we're
having a discussion. You've made up your mind already.”
Reaching out her hand, she demanded, “Hand over the divorce papers you've prepared.”
Kristopher stared at her extended, pale hand, his expression shifting to one of shock as his face drained of color.
“The divorce agreement... I'll have Marc deliver it to you later.”
