Chapter 181:
The elevator halted. She stepped out first.
“Belinda,” Kristopher called, his voice cold yet resonant.
Belinda paused but didn’t turn to face him. “What is it?”
His eyes lingered on her retreating figure for a long moment before he inhaled sharply. “This afternoon, Marc will
bring over the divorce papers. If everything looks okay, you can sign them. We could be divorced by tomorrow.”
She halted briefly, a wave of resignation washing over her. Despite her resolve to initiate the divorce, it felt like a
defeat.
However, for Cathy, Kristopher, who had been upset about Belinda’s absence at the court and refused to get a
divorce again, now took the initiative to bring it up. He could even leave her for another woman.

Cathy found herself bewildered by her past affections for him.
As she mulled over these thoughts, she took a deep breath and agreed, “Okay, | will be there.”
She then continued on her way to deliver breakfast to Anthony and Allen, making her way toward their hospital
room.
“And...” Kristopher called after her, halting her in her tracks once more. “Three days from now, at the Summit
Hotel. The ceremony.”
He paused, locking eyes with her, a probing look on his face. “You know what kind of ceremony it is, don’t you?”
Belinda froze, her mind racing. The Summit Hotel... Wasn't that where Maggie mentioned Kristopher was
planning to propose to Cathy? Why was he asking her if she knew about the ceremony?
Struggling to maintain her composure, Belinda turned to give Kristopher a frosty stare. “I know. What's wrong?”
She was aware of the event and refused to feign ignorance before him. Kristopher, noticing her resolute
demeanor, let out a barely noticeable sigh of relief. “Even if we're divorced by then, | hope you can attend.
Belinda... make sure you're there on time.”

He glanced at her attire and added somewhat thoughtlessly, “And wear something nice.”
Belinda froze, her gaze locked on Kristopher in stunned silence.
Had he lost his mind?
In just three days, he was set to propose to Cathy, and yet here he was, asking her, his former wife, to not only
attend but also to dress elegantly for the occasion. What was he even thinking?
Did he actually believe they could remain friends after their divorce, or was this stwisted attempt to
embarrass her?
The intensity in Belinda’s eyes made Kristopher visibly uneasy. He scowled, brushed past her, and made his way
quickly toward the hospital room.
Belinda, caught in a whirlwind of emotions, watched his tall, straight figure disappear down the hall before she
shook herself out of her reverie and hurried after him, carrying two breakfast trays.
Inside the room, Allen and Anthony were talking about Allen’s ideal woman.
Allen thought for a moment, then responded with a gentle smile. “I tend to favor someone like Belinda.
Unfortunately...”
“Unfortunately, she ended up with that scoundrel Kristopher, didn’t she?” Anthony stroked his grey beard, his
voice laced with amusement. “Had Belinda not married Kristopher, you two might have made a fine pair. | could
have seen myself playing cupid for you!”
