Chapter 189:
“Why not make it done today? The courthouse is quite efficient nowadays!”
Every word from the reporters bolstered Cathy, putting pressure on Belinda to consider divorce.
Kristopher, witnessing their fervor, was suddenly overwhelmed with frustration.
He marched past the reporters and positioned himself protectively in front of Belinda and Cathy. His towering
stature and the commanding tone of his deep voice demanded attention. “Enough,” he declared firmly. “All you
need to know is that Belinda and | are planning to divorce, and the proceedings will commence shortly. The
details of our divorce papers and the timing to obtain the divorce certificate are private matters, and it’s not the
place of outsiders to pry.”
As a key figure in Nawrin’s business sector, Kristopher radiated a potent sense of control.
Although he had previously treated the reporters with politeness due to Cathy's fame, their growing boldness

This shift quieted the reporters immediately; they could feel the intense pressure emanating from him,
prompting a hushed silence to fall over the area.
The reporters, usually so eager to engage, now bowed their heads submissively, finding themselves unable to
speak under the scrutiny of such a dominant figure. Even the reporters who had maintained a friendly rapport
with Cathy were rendered speechless.
Sensing the tension, Cathy, standing behind Kristopher, frowned and subtly gestured to the reporters, urging
them to step forward.
Yet none dared to meet Kristopher’s stern gaze, much less confront him. Cathy's glare intensified as she
surveyed the reporters, irked by their timidity.
She had meticulously planned this confrontation to corner Kristopher into publicly agreeing to divorce Belinda,
eliminating any possibility of his backing out.

Yet, at this critical moment, these cowards remained silent.
Her efforts in gathering them seemed wasted.
As her frustration boiled over, someone suddenly tugged at her arm, pulling her away from Belinda.
Surprised, Cathy turned to find Belinda shaking off her grip.
Belinda faced Kristopher with a serene expression. “Mr. Cox, | believe Miss Miller and the reporters have a point.
Finalizing our divorce today will quell the rampant speculation online. I'll claim only what's rightfully mine. | seek
no part of Cox Group's wealth, nor do | wish to split any additional assets.”
She offered Kristopher a faint smile. “Shall we proceed to the courthouse now?”
Kristopher froze in place, his tall, upright figure abruptly rigid.
He turned to face Belinda’s bright, smiling eyes. “Since we decided to divorce over a month ago and Miss Miller
has returned, prolonging this doesn’t benefit anyone, right?”
Belinda didn’t wait for a response, turning on her heel and striding towards the hospital entrance.
Kristopher stood motionless, watching her walk away. His heart felt as though it was being crushed by an unseen
force, the pain intense. Throughout their three years together, Belinda had mentioned divorce several times.
Each instance, he had brushed her concerns aside, and she eventually conceded, apologizing and admitting her
faults in their quarrels. But this twas different; she remained firm and didn’t back down. A deep sense of loss
and helplessness washed over Kristopher, making it difficult to breathe.
