Allen was taken aback by Madisyn’s words. He instinctively turned to look at Belinda, who was wearing

“Allen?” Noticing Allen’s fixed gaze on Belinda, Madisyn furrowed her brow and whispered, “If you're not
attending Kristopher’s party tonight, we could have dinner instead.”
Allen snapped out of his reverie, his expression turning somber. “Perhaps we should reschedule.”
“That sounds good.” Madisyn’s lips curled into a sneer. “After all, you and Kristopher have such a long history.
Your bond with him is stronger than with anyone else!”
After speaking, she turned to face Belinda with a smile. “Let's get going.”

afternoon, whether it was at the hospital or lingering by the entrance of the court. But the minute he found out
about Kristopher’s party, he ditched you without a second thought and didn’t even stick around for dinner.
Clearly, he puts his interests above anything else. He values his ties with Kristopher far more than his connection
with you!”
Belinda kept her eyes on the road as she drove, her response cold and detached. “I'm aware. That's why I've
already told him that there's no chance for us. It's over.”
Waiting at the traffic light, she turned toward Madisyn with a grin. “I'm not naive enough to be duped by those
trust-fund kids again.”
Madisyn sighed in relief. “Belinda, I'm so glad you see it that way. | was really worried.”

Furrowing his brow, Allen sighed deeply, circled the car, and then settled into the driver's seat. As he savored the

they'd reconcile. Is she serious about it now?”

they consider remarrying.”
