Chapter 242:
Kristopher’s brow furrowed as he eyed the bold, red gown. It was a sharp contrast to the store’s array of soft
pastel shades. The dress was too vivid, too daring. Oddly, it brought back the image of Belinda at the racetrack,
her hair billowing behind her as she took off her helmet.
He halted, realizing the woman standing before him was not the gentle, soft-smiling Belinda he remembered, the
one who always appeared demure and virtuous both in public and private.
Belinda moved towards the red gown and glanced at the price tag, then turned to look at Kristopher. “Mr. Cox,
are you second-guessing because of the price?”
She was quite certain this gown was the priciest in the entire store. Kristopher snapped out of his daze and
shook his head. “It just tookby surprise that you'd choose something like this.”
Belinda stopped and gave him a scornful laugh. “Clearly, you don’t knowat all. It's no wonder you can’t
predict what I'd like.” With that, she beckoned a sales assistant, who promptly removed the gown from the

At that moment, Cathy emerged from another fitting room, dressed in a moon-white gown. She spun around
before Kristopher. “Don’t you think this color is a bit dull?” The color seemed too plain, lacking the impact
needed for the female lead at a proposal ceremony.
Yet, Kristopher gave a slight nod. “It looks lovely on you.”
Despite her hesitation, Cathy decided to trust his judgment. “Alright, I'll wear it at tomorrow's event!”
As she spoke, she reached out to take Kristopher’s arm. “Kristopher, I'm so looking forward to tomorrow!”
Kristopher gazed at her animated expression, his eyes filled with uncertainty. “Cathy, do you... really understand
what tomorrow’s ceremony is all about?”
Kristopher’s question made Cathy blush.

When Cathy had first returned to the country, Maggie had whispered to her that Kristopher had already reserved
the venue and ordered the cake at the Summit Hotel. The hotel was small but very exclusive, a favored spot for
Nawrin’s high society to celebrate their big occasions.
Kristopher booking everything the day he found out she was back spoke volumes about his intentions.
As she pondered this, Cathy shyly bit her lip. “Kristopher, of course, | know what tomorrow's ceremony is for. If |
didn’t, why would I have brought Maggie to try on dresses today?”
She looked up into Kristopher’s deep eyes, her own sparkling with admiration and excitement. “I can see how
much effort you've put in.”
She had been looking forward to this day for so long. The journalists she knew were all ready and waiting. She
had quietly invited every reporter in Nawrin, along with all her family and friends, to cand share in her and
Kristopher’s joy. Tomorrow night, she would be the happiest woman alive!
Seeing her smile, Kristopher paused and turned away, feeling a bit awkward. “I just made ssimple
preparations.”
“That's more than enough!” Cathy beamed. “I know how busy you are. The fact that you took the tto plan a
surprise means the world to me. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow!”
