Chapter 299:
Kristopher scoffed. “If one of the two people she mentioned as dead is me, then | might also think she is kind.”
Marc was about to fork the noodles. Suddenly, his hand stopped.
It took him a moment to grasp that the deaths Cathy mentioned were not those of the men injured in last night's
explosion but potentially Kristopher and Belinda.
“Well...” Marc began, slowly processing the implications. It would certainly cast suspicion on Cathy's request to
verify the deceased's identities and locate their families.
Just then, Belinda emerged from the kitchen, bringing the reheated bowl of noodles for Kristopher.
As she approached, the two men abruptly changed the subject, focusing intently on their noodles.
Belinda was seated across from them. She observed their quiet meal with a sense of relief. “Kayden mentioned
that Mr. Cox's car accident wasn’t serious last night. With srest, your wound infection and fever should
improve. Now that Marc is here...” She rose from her seat and said, “I should head back.”
After all, she had an important meeting scheduled for today.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtRyland had arranged for her to meet with senior executives from the cooperative company.
It was already seven in the morning, and she needed to prepare materials and speeches for the meeting at the
studio.
Kristopher, still eating, lifted his head to give her a cold glance. “Where are you going? Remember, in the eyes of
the public, you're supposed to be dead.”
Belinda was taken aback. “But...”
Before she could get another word in, the doorbell chimed.

Simultaneously, Cathy's voice resonated from outside the villa.
“Kristopher, open the door! It's me!”
All three of them froze at the sound.
Belinda and Marc exchanged a look before turning to Kristopher in unison.
Kristopher calmly put his fork down. “I didn’t tell her to come.”
“If you didn’t, then why is she knocking at the door right now?” Belinda retorted, not believing a word he just
said. “Marc himself said that this is a very secluded area. Even | was unaware of this property. How could she
possibly find it without you telling her?”
Kristopher had been on a call with Cathy less than thirty minutes ago, and now she was here. There was no way
he had nothing to do with it.
“It's true that this place is secluded, but it isn’t completely off the grid. If she was purposely looking for it, it
wouldn't be that difficult to find it.” Kristopher leaned over the table and stared at Belinda. “There is a secret
room behind the oil painting at the end of the second-floor corridor. The password is 0628. If you don’t want
Cathy to see you, you need to go and hide. Now.”
Belinda frowned.
She wasn't fond of the idea of having to sneak around, but she also knew that this wasn’t the right tto run
into Cathy.
She contemplated her options and narrowed her eyes at Kristopher. “Are you sure you didn’t tell her to come
here?”
