Chapter 301:

Cathy’s smile lit up the room. “Of course, Kristopher. We've known each other for so many years. Apart from the

clothes specified by the brand for advertising shoots, when have you ever seenwear floral or plaid skirts or

anything with a pastoral vibe? It’s just not my scene. How could | possibly pull it off?”

She tilted her head, batting her big eyes at him with an irresistibly cute expression. “But hey, if this style is your

thing, I'll give it my best shot. Anything for you, right?”

Her smile turned positively enchanting, her eyes sparkling. “But seriously, Kristopher, isn’t this more of a little-

girl thing?”

Every move, every word from Cathy was meticulously calculated. In the past, whenever she employed that

innocent charm, Kristopher had been putty in her hands. No matter what she asked, he always caved. Cathy

assumed this twould be no different.

However, confusion clouded Kristopher’s face instead of indulgence. “But remember five years ago, when we

first met? Your sister swore this style was yours.”

The room fell into a sudden hush, and Cathy's hope for his warmth faded. She forced an awkward smile. “Is that

so? | must have forgotten, especially after getting sick again.”

Kristopher narrowed his eyes. “Cathy, you seem to forget a lot.”

From her love of red to her knack for racing, and now even her preferred style.

He'd consulted doctors, who assured him that memory loss in terminal patients was usually selective, focusing

on one aspect at most. Yet Cathy seemed to have erased everything but that fateful incident five years ago,

when she and her sister had rescued him.

Kristopher’s gaze stirred an inexplicable flutter in Cathy's heart. She feigned weakness, leaning on the table and

massaging her temples. “Maybe... maybe my condition has taken a turn for the worse...”

As she spoke, Cathy lowered her head and hid behind her arms, avoiding Kristopher’s gaze. Inside, she seethed

with frustration. How much had Joyce told him about Belinda back then? Why did that wretched Belinda have

such tacky tastes and notions?

Up in the partitioned area, Belinda stood quietly against the wall, her ear tuned to the sounds below. Her heart

felt unbearably uneasy, as if gripped by an invisible force. Everything she'd hoped for had been wishful thinking.

Kristopher had decorated this villa to suit what he believed was Cathy's taste—not because of anything Joyce

had said about Belinda five years ago, but because he assumed Cathy preferred this style.

Belinda couldn't help but scoff. Most likely, Kristopher had planned this surprise behind Cathy’s back, convinced

it matched her preferences. Yet his meticulous planning had veered off course. Cathy had apparently forgotten

ever liking this style.

Downstairs, Kristopher set aside his fork after finishing his noodles. He dabbed at his mouth with a tissue and

fixed his sharp, eagle-like gaze on Cathy. “Do you recall the day we first crossed paths?”

Cathy rested her head on the table for a moment, then lifted her brow in deep contemplation. “The day we

met...”

Upstairs, Belinda held her breath, straining to catch every sound from below. She couldn't shake her curiosity—

when had Cathy and Kristopher really met? It felt too precise to be mere coincidence that their first encounter

fell on June 28th.

In the dining room, Cathy tilted her head and asked softly, “Kristopher, are you testing me? We met on June

28th, right? It was scorching by the sea that day, and | ended up with a sunburn.”
