Chapter 91:

Almost without thinking, Belinda said, “I have a stomachache.”

Fred's eyebrows shot up. “You're at Peace Hospital for a stomachache? Sounds pretty serious, huh?”

He glanced at the banana in his hand and asked, “Think you can handle this?”

Politely, Belinda shook her head.

Fred chuckled at her response. “Guess I'll just have to eat it myself then.”

With a playful grin, he eagerly began eating the banana.

His light-heartedness somehow put her at ease.

Shifting into a more comfortable position, she gazed at him curiously. “Haven't you graduated yet?”

“Nope,” Fred replied, his mouth full of banana. He chewed thoughtfully before continuing, “I’m just working at

the bar part-tto make sextra cash. Once I'm done with school, you won't catchthere anymore.”

Belinda raised her eyebrows playfully. “Sounds like | should visit more often before you're gone.”

“Definitely.” Fred grinned, his eyes twinkling. “I’ve got about six months left till graduation.”

Six months...

A wry smile crossed Belinda’s face as she murmured, “I've only got three months left.”

Fred's eyebrows shot up. “Only three months? Why?”

Belinda averted her gaze, hesitating. “It’s nothing. | just...”

Her explanation was cut short by the loud ring of her phone, which had been forgotten on the table.

It was Madisyn calling.

“Belinda, where are you?”

The voice on the other end sounded both anxious and frustrated. “You haven't answered my texts. | went to the

court and found out you didn’t go through with the divorce today. Then | stopped by your apartment. Guess who

I ran into?”

“Who?” Belinda’s frown deepened.

“Kristopher!” Madisyn’s voice was cold as she continued, “He’s everywhere, isn’t he? | thought I'd found you a

safe enough hiding spot. Somehow, he found you again!”

“Why was he at my apartment?” Belinda sat bolt upright, gripping her phone tighter.

“He claimed you stood him up. He seemed pretty upset. What's going on with him?”

Madisyn’s voice was tight with anger as she recounted, “He insisted you were hand kicked the door open.

When | got here, he was inside with his girlfriend. Cathy kept complaining about a foul odor in the building. | was

so upset that | had to drive them out.”

As she spoke, Madisyn hurriedly gathered items for Belinda. “Your room’s a disaster. They must have been here

to steal, right?”

Belinda’s mind went blank for a second after hearing this.

Then, an urgent thought struck her. “Fluffy! Check if Fluffy is hiding under the bed or behind the sofa! | wasn’t

home, the door was forced open, and strangers were inside. He must be terrified!”

On the other end, Madisyn slapped her forehead, exclaiming, “Oh! Fluffy! How did | overlook him? I'm on it. I'll

look for him now.”

Belinda clenched the phone, her teeth gritted with worry.

Fluffy... Would he be safe?
