Chapter 92: The Final Confrontation
Chapter 92 The Final Confrontation
(Nathan Sterling's POV)
| stared at the phone screen, Patricia Blackthorne’s nflashing insistently. My finger hovered over the
answer button for a moment before | declined the call.
The phone fell silent, but the weight of my decision pressed down on my chest like a stone.
(Nathan Sterling's POV)
Elena looked puzzled as she watchedreject the call. Who was that?”
“Just a sales call, | lied smoothly, slipping the phone back into my pocket.
Inside, conflict tore atlike claws. | couldn't afford to answer Patricia's calls anymore. The kinder she was
to me, the more | would soften toward her and Elena.
My aim was to exploit Marcus Blackwood’s weakness, not create one for myself. Even if | harbored feelings for
Elena, | would choose my family over her.
The Sterling family’s honor cfirst. Always.
(Elena’s Pow
After our brief ttogether, we parted ways outside the bistro. As soon as | got into my car, my phone rang.
“Elena?” Patricia's voice cthrough, tinged with disappointment. “I tried calling Nathan several times, but
he didn’t answer. Is he busy? Maybe I'm bothering him too much.”
| remembered Nathan's earlier action of rejecting the call. A pang of hurt shot through my chest.
After Richard's death, Nathan's help had made my mother see him as a son. But we were merely outsiders to
him.
“Mom, we shouldn't bother Nathan too much in the future,” | said gently. “He must be very busy with his own
affairs.”
Patricia was quiet for a moment. “I understand, dear. | just.... | thought of him as family.”
“I know, Mom. But we need to be realistic about these things.”
“You're right,” she sighed. “Could you pickup? I'd like to go home.”
(Elena’s POV)
“Okay” | nodded, even though she couldn't see me. Til be there soon.
(Patricia Blackthorne’s POV)
After ending the call, | tried to cheer myself up. David neededto stay strong.
| went to refill my Shadow Moon Thermos Flask for him, only to find it empty. The medical break room was just
down the hall.

As | approached, familiar voices drifted through the partially open door.
“Why are there Whitmore Pack Guards outside David's room?” someone asked. ‘Is it Marcus's doing?”
“No,” another voice replied. “Adrian Whitmore arranged them”
| froze. The second voice belonged to Sophia Rivers.
Sophia sneered. “Elena certainly has manipulative skills. Both Nathan and Adrian helping her. But she can’t
possibly know that Nathan is my man.”
My blood turned cold.
“The idea of Elena using Nathan to investigateis a joke,” Sophia continued with cruel amusement
She turned to someone else in the room. “Nurse Rebecca Hayes, inject David with the Wolfheart Adrenaline
Suppressant Serum as planned”
“But what if we're caught?” a trembling voice asked.
“TIl find a scapegoat if things go south,” Sophia replied dismissively.
(Patricia Blackthorne’s POV)
“Till get David,” Sophia said with vicious satisfaction. “And make Elena know what it means to offend me
Just then, the door burst open as | pushed through.
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
Patricia stood in the doorway, pale and trembling with rage. Her eyes burned with fury I'd never seen before.
“Was it you?” Patricia's voice shook. “Were you responsible for my mate's death? For my son’s condition?”
Nurse Rebecca Hayes whimpered in fear. “Please, let's discuss this elsewhere-"
Panic flashed through me. | turned and fled toward the corridor.
Patricia gave chase, shouting forto stop.
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
| ran toward the Medical Center Stairwell, my Sophia’s Crimson Stiletto Heels clicking against the floor. But
Patricia was faster than | expected.
She caught up toat the stairwell landing.
“Answer me!” Patricia grabbed my arm, spinningaround. “Did you kill my family?”
My body was forced against the railing. Behindyawned the height of a dozen floors. The traffic on the road
below looked like tiny toys.
Patricia's hands found my neck. “You killed them! You destroyed everything!”
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
Nurse Rebecca Hayes pulled at Patricia, givinga chance to breathe..
Instead of fear, | smiled triumphantly. The truth was finally out, and i felt strangely liberated.
“Even if | was responsible for their deaths,” | taunted, “your son-in-law still chooses to believeover you.”
The words hit Patricia like physical blows. Her face crumpled with despair.

(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
| leaned closer, my voice dripping with malice. “You and Elena are all that remain. And both Marcus and
Nathan are on my side.”
Patricia's hatred burned in her eyes, but | could see her powerlessness too
“Til fight you,” she declared, her voice breaking. “I won't let you win.”
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
Patricia lunged atwith desperate fury.
The three of us struggled against the railing. Nurse Rebecca Hayes tried to separate us, but Patricia's rage gave
her strength.
In the chaos, Patricia was pushed toward the edge. She lost her balance and fell over the railing.
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
Instinctively, | grabbed her hand. Panic flooded throughas | realized what was happening.
“Help me!” | called to the nurse. “Pull her up!”
Patricia hung in the air, her weight pulling at my grip. Her eyes met mine with a strange mixture of
(Patricia Blackthorne’s POV)
As | dangled over the edge, | looked up at Sophia’s wrist. Beneath her Damien’s Ancestral Timepiece, | saw it
clearly
A distinctive crimson birthmark, resembling pigeon blood, shining brightly in the sunlight.
In a daze, | recalled my daughter's birth twenty years ago. The neighbors had whispered that the red mole on
the baby’s wrist was a bad omen.
But to me, it hadn’t mattered. She was my daughter, lost for over twenty years.
(Patricia Blackthorne’s POV)
| looked at Sophia, my eyes filling with tears. The tragic irony of it all overwhelmed me.
My own daughter. The one I'd searched for. The one who had destroyed my family.
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
| gradually regained my composure amidst the chaos. Why had | tried to save Patricia in the first place? It
was merely a reflex.
But now, should | really save Elena’s mother?
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
No. Patricia knew too much. Saving her would only lead to my own demise.
Perhaps it was better to let go.
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
| screamed for help, attracting attention from the corridor. Medical staff rushed toward us as the Northern.
Territory Pack Enforcement Division was called.
Patricia looked up at me, her voice barely a whisper. “Child, | am actually your-
| suddenly released my grip.
(Sophia Rivers’ POV)
Without my support, Nurse Rebecca Hayes couldn’t hold on any longer.
(Sophia Rivers POV)
Patricia fell from the building amidst the nurse’s horrified screams.
Her body plummeted toward the ground below, disappearing from view
(Elena’s POV)
| had just stepped out of my car at the Institute Main Entrance when a figure plummeted from the sky.
(Elena’s POV)
A deafening crash echoed nearby. The sound of impact was sickening, final.
Blood began to pool on the concrete.
(Elena’s POV)
Chaos erupted around me. People screamed and ran in all directions.
| walked toward the bloodied figure, my mind refusing to process what | was seeing.
(Elena’s POV)
| recognized her.
The familiar clothes. The gentle face, now broken and still.
(Elena’s POV)
| collapsed beside her, crying out, “Mom...” as | knelt in the spreading blood.
My hands reached out to touch her cooling skin. This had to be a nightmare. It couldn’t be real.
(Elena’s POV)
Pack enforcement officers arrived and tried to pullaway. | refused to let go, clinging to her lifeless form.
Dr. Marcus Webb knelt beside us, checking for vital signs. His solemn expression confirmed what | already
knew.
As they pronounced Patricia dead, darkness swallowedwhole.
