Athena was feeling more than a little tipsy. The ocean winds howled with a ferocity that only grew stronger as night descended.
The night sea was a terrifying place. But oddly, she wasn't scared at all. With a laugh, she leapt right in.
Was it just her imagination, or did she hear a voice calling out? She couldn't quite place it.
"Athena!"

Athena was suddenly yanked up by a strong hand. Gasping, she spat out a mouthful of salty water and found herself face-to-face
with Tyler, who looked absolutely frantic.
What was he doing here?
Tyler grabbed a ladder hanging off the ship and pulled her up with a firm grip.
Athena, fueled by a mix of adrenaline and defiance, shoved him away. "Let go of me!"
His chest ached from the effort, but he plunged back into the sea to save her again. "Stop this madness!"
The waves were treacherous; it wouldn't take much for both of them to be dragged under.
Back on deck, Athena was trembling—partly from the cold, partly from the thrill, and partly from hunger. The plunge into the sea
had driven hthe truth: Marlon was truly gone.
Tyler fetched a clean towel from the ship's cabin and draped it over her head. "You cold?"
"What are you doing here?"
