Chapter 375
With Carrie's command, several girls quickly surrounded Yolanda.
One of the girls shouted at her, "Just leave while you still can!"
The rest of the girls chimed in.
"Do you know who she is?"
"She's the daughter of Johnston Materials!"
"Johnston Materials?" Yolanda paused for a moment. She recalled hearing about the company from her dad-
Harold had recently given them five million dollars worth of business.
"Are you scared now?" The girls saw Yolanda's expression change. They thought she was intimidated by Carrie's
status when she didn't react.

"Just leave! Don't make us call security to throw you out!" another girl added.
Seeing Yolanda coming to the banquet in a designer dress without any jewelry, they assumed she was wearing a
knockoff who had snuck in to mooch off the food.
After all, a true socialite wouldn't attend such an event without a decent set of jewelry. Even the most
insignificant girl among them wore a pearl necklace.
"Can't you understand us? Get lost!"
Despite their threats, Yolanda showed no sign of fear, which infuriated them further.
"Does she even know what Johnston Materials is?" another girl sneered.
"She must be here to mooch off everyone!"
Yolanda leisurely finished her oysters and glanced at the increasingly frustrated girls.
She thought starting a scene without knowing someone's background was foolish; if Johnston Materials didn't
want to go under, they'd better choose another
successor.
At the previous banquets Yolanda attended, there were always bullies who acted tough, but those people usually
had sbacking behind them.
It was surprising that these girls were so arrogant in front of Diana's daughter, who was the center of this
banquet.
Of course, Yolanda had planned to stay low and not intervene. She figured things would quiet down soon enough.
"I'm going to call security right now!" one of the girls said as she turned to leave with her handbag.
"Carrie, what are you doing? Cover and greet the ladies!" Just as the girl was about to leave, a middle-aged
woman with a wrinkled face approached.
The woman, Carrie's mother, walked up to Carrie and reached out to pull her over. Suddenly, she noticed Yolanda
sitting on the couch.
"Oh, Ms. Henderson! | hope I'm not interrupting your conversation!" the woman said with a smile.
The middle-aged woman, Florence Chambers, was genuinely pleased to see Yolanda there. She had noticed
Diana and Yolanda when they entered the banquet hall but hadn't approached them since she didn't know Diana
and had no one to introduce her.
Seeing Carrie with Yolanda made her happy. She was about to praise Carrie for being capable until she heard
what Yolanda said.
"Not at all. These people were just about to call security to kickout."
"What?" The middle-aged woman's expression changed tically as shock and anger flooded her face. She
quickly turned to Carrie.
She raised her hand and slapped Carrie hard across the face.
The slap echoed through the room, leaving Carrie's face twisted from the impact.
"Mom, why did you hit me?" Carrie exclaimed in shock and grievance. She covered her face with tears welling in
her eyes but stubbornly refused to back down.
