Chapter 252 A Slap and a Kiss I hung up the phone and turned my gaze back to the computer screen.

Elsa's nflickered right next to the second-place award.

I smiled, my mind drifting back to my past life.

I hadn't participated in the competition back then, so Elsa took first place without a hitch. That win had secured her a spot in Brown Group, just as she had hoped.

But this time? Things would be different-completely different.

The next evening, I stepped into the Brown residence hand-in-hand with Eric. The moment we walked in, the sound of Elsa's sweet laughter filled the air.

Upon seeing me, Mom immediately cover, unable to hide the joy on her face. "Jae, look! Elsa won second place in the competition!" Dad, standing beside her, nodded with a look of approval. "I heard the first-place winner is a renowned designer. That means our Elsa didn't really lose." Elsa blushed and lowered her head. "Mom, Dad, stop praising me! You're makingshy." "Shirley is my idol. I never expected to surpass her. Second place is already more than I could have hoped for." Jack patted her head with a proud smile. "Elsa is still young. Give it a couple of years, and she'll surpass her for sure." With that, he reached over to the couch and picked up a carefully prepared gift, placing it in Elsa's hands. "Here, a little something to celebrate your achievement." Elsa eagerly unwrapped the package. The moment she saw what was inside, a limited-edition handbag she had been eyeing for ages, her face lit up with pure delight.

"Thank you, Jack!" she exclaimed, wrapping her arms around Jack's arm in excitement.

Then, as if testing the waters, she glanced in my direction.

Jack spoke for her. "What about your gift for Elsa?" I spread my hands, feigning innocence. "Gift? No one toldI needed to prepare one." Then, I turned to Elsa with a curious expression and asked, "Wait... Don't tellthe whole reason you gathered everyone here was just to collect presents from us?" Elsa immediately waved her hands, looking flustered. "Of course not, Jane. Don't misunderstand. I just want everyone to share in my happiness, that's all." I rolled my eyes. "That's settled, then." With that, I pulled Eric over to the couch and sat down.

Jack, clearly irritated, strode over and loomed over me. "You're her older sister, and you're not even going to acknowledge her achievement?" I looked up at him, puzzled. "What else am I supposed to do?" He scoffed. "Elsa has won an award and has ton her hands. I've already talked to Dad, and we're bringing her into the company." I turned to Dad, watching his reaction as Jack spoke so self-righteously.

Dad, ever the mediator, stepped forward and spoke steadily. "It's not like the company can't afford another position. Letting your sister gain sexperience wouldn't be a bad thing." When he said that, I caught the satisfied smirk creeping onto Elsa's face.

I let out a chuckle. "I disagree. She's perfectly fine staying at home, so she doesn't need to start working. The family isn't struggling to put food on the table, right? So why not just let her stay home?" I met Dad's gaze, my tone unwavering. "Dad, how am I doing at the company?"

He seemed slightly caught off guard but still nodded. "You're doing great. Every project you've taken on has shown real vision. The board and I have high hopes for you." I nodded and turned my gaze back to Jack and Elsa. "If she joins, I'll leave." Dad's expression darkened instantly.

Clearly, he hadn't expectedto say something so blunt. I knew he cared about his reputation. My threat was effective, but he needed a way to save his dignity.

Before he could react, I quickly stepped forward and wrapped my

arm around his. "Dad, I'm only thinking about the company's image. If we just start handing out positions left and right, what will the Start employees think of our family? Elsa's award is undoubtedly

impressive, but there are plenty of other ways to reward her. Don't you agree?"
