forgotten to ask about the results earlier.
Eileen relaxed slightly and replied, “The numbers are still a bit low, but they’re good enough. Another round of
meds should do it. We'll tell everyone the good news when you're not so busy.”
Before Bryan could respond, a woman's voice—his secretary’s—interjected, “Mr. Dawson, the meeting's about to
start.”
“Right,” Bryan said curtly and then hung up the phone.
Eileen blinked. Raymond always handled Bryan's schedule. Why was someone else doing it today? Confusion
gnawed at Eileen, but she had a contract to sign. She quickly changed and headed out.
She arrived at the restaurant, got the room number for the private room, and hurried towards it. Rounding a
corner, she spotted Raymond standing right outside the door.
Raymond's face went white when he saw Eileen. He spun on his heel, ready to flee.
