Though three years had passed, Dwight had been Halsey’s first man, the one who had taught her about love and

Her long eyelashes fluttered, then she pulled away from Shaun's lips and stepped back.
She raised an eyebrow at Gilbert. “Happy?”
Gilbert's hands clenched into fists at his sides. He had bet she wouldn't actually kiss Shaun, but she had, and it
was on his own demand.
He was so furious he felt sick. “Mr. Payne-"
William cut him off. “Enough, Mr. Greenwood. Ms. Mallin is Shaun's girlfriend. | trust them both. Today, we're all
here to play golf together, so let's not spoil the mood.”
William had clearly taken their side.
Gilbert looked at Halsey. She was linked arm-in-arm with Shaun, giving him a teasing look. Gilbert was beyond
frustrated.

“Shall we get started with golf?” Shaun asked.
“Sounds good. Ms. Mallin, do you know how to play?”
