Sloane appeared unnervingly composed. Unlike David, she didn’t dive straight into coding. Instead, she closed
her eyes, mentally mapping out her approach at lightning speed.
A few seconds later, her eyes snapped open-and her fingers began to fly across the keyboard.
She was no slower than David. Every line of code she wrote was clean and precise, every logical structure
carefully calculated and refined.
Tticked by. In the massive auditorium, the only sounds were keystrokes and shallow breaths.
David finished first. He leaned back in his chair with a smug smile, eyes gleaming with disdain. He looked like he
was already imagining Sloane's humiliation.
But Sloane remained unhurried, calmly reviewing every detail of her code. Not once did she show any sign of
panic.
At last, she submitted her code.
Professor Molly and the rest of the judges began their review, running both programs through a battery of
complex test cases while scrutinizing their performance and reliability.
The tension in the room was electric. Every student held their breath, eyes locked on the screens, waiting for the
final verdict.

Meanwhile, the livestream chat was flooding again:
“David’s got this in the bag! No way Sloane can beat him!”
“I'll bet ten bags of spicy chips David wins!”
“Sloane's nuts-she’s definitely gonna embarrass herself this time!”
Nobody believed in her.
“David's a coding god. What does Sloane have? She's doomed.”
“She bit off way more than she could chew. This one’s already over.”
And then-it happened.
Professor Molly cleared her throat. Her voice echoed through the microphone across the

“After a thorough and impartial evaluation, the winner of this programming challenge is... Miss Sloane.”
The room erupted into chaos. The comment section exploded like dynamite.
“What?! Sloane won?! No way!”
“David actually lost? | don’t believe it!”
“The judges must be wrong-David’s unbeatable!”
David's face turned deathly pale. He shot to his feet, disbelief written all over him. “That’s impossible! My code
can’t have problems-there must be something wrong with the test cases!”
Professor Molly gave him a cool look. “If you're questioning the results, we can run your code live under extreme
conditions.”
David clenched his jaw and nodded stiffly. “Fine. Let's see what the issue is.”
Professor Molly didn’t hesitate. She pulled up David's code on the big screen and input a set of stress-test data.
As the program ran, the outputs quickly descended into chaos. Then-crash. The entire program froze.
David turned ghost-white. He stared at the screen in disbelief. “How... How is this possible?”
Professor Molly explained calmly, “Your program didn’t account for memory overflow when handling large-scale
data, which caused it to crash under high-load conditions. Sloane’s solution, on the other hand, used optimized
algorithms and efficient data structures to completely avoid this issue.”
David opened his mouth, searching for a rebuttal-but found none.
After a long silence, he lowered his head. Then, standing up slowly, he bowed slightly toward Sloane.
“I lost. Fair and square. Sloane, you're better than me.”
In the livestream chat, the tone flipped instantly. Now, praise for Sloane flooded the screen:
“Sloane's a beast! Absolute legend!”
“Sloane, | love you!”

Nearby, Cameron stopped typing for a breath. Jill immediately glared at him. “What are you doing?! Full screen
that support for Sloane, now!”
