“This is the doctor you brought?” Simon Kent shouted, pointing a furious finger at Gordon. “She’s not saving
Dad-she’s trying to kill him!”
Beside him, the teenage boy who had accompanied them lunged forward, reaching out to grab Sloane’s arm,
yelling, “You quack! Stop what you're doing!”
Without even glancing back, Sloane flicked her fingers, and a needle shot out with a sharp whoosh, piercing one
of the teen’s pressure points.
The boy froze instantly, stuck in mid-motion with his arm outstretched, completely paralyzed. His eyes widened
with a mixture of fear and fury as he shouted, “What-what did you do to me?!”
“Shut up!” Sloane's voice cracked like a whip. She turned her head, eyes sharp as lightning. “One more word,
and I'll mute you with poison.”
Terrified, the boy snapped his mouth shut, not daring to make a sound.
Sloane turned back to Mr. Clark and continued the treatment.
Another needle landed on his chest-right over a major pressure point that regulated the body’s primary energy

Gordon, watching intently, clenched his fists in excitement. But he dared not speak, fearing he might interrupt
the doctor's work.
Sloane lifted another needle and skillfully inserted it into a spot on Mr. Clark’s scalp.
With that final motion, a faint flush returned to the old man’s pale, deathly face-signs of life creeping back in.
Then, Mr. Clark’s fingers twitched. A faint, garbled sound rose from his throat.
“Dad!” Gordon cried, voice cracking with emotion as his eyes reddened.
The old man slowly opened his eyes, his clouded gaze landing briefly on Gordon before

Gordon's emotions swelled and dropped like a rollercoaster. He turned urgently to Sloane.
“Doctor-what’s happening with my father?”
By then, Sloane had begun removing the needles. Her voice was calm and clinical. “He’s out of danger. His
body’s extremely weak-he’s just fallen asleep.”
Gordon let out a heavy breath, sagging with relief. “So that’s what it was...”
After a pause to collect himself, he bowed deeply to Sloane.
“Thank you, Doctor. The entire Kent family is beyond grateful for your help.”
Sloane remained impassive, carefully placing each needle back into its case. Then she stood, stretched out her
hand with her palm up, and said in a flat tone, “Thirty million.”
Gordon blinked in surprise, then quickly nodded. “I'll have someone prepare the check right away.”
“Wait! Sion barked, stepping forward. “We can’t pay her yet.”
He glared at Sloane. “Sure, Dad looks like he’s stable now, but who's to say this won't cback? He’s not
cured yet. We can’t be paying in full just yet.”
“Yeah,” Mrs. Kent added hesitantly, her eyes uncertain. “He only woke up for a second. What if it was just... a
last gasp?”
“Exactly! And I'm still frozen!” the teen boy shouted, face flushed as he remained stuck in place.
Sloane's expression turned icy in an instant. Her gaze sharpened like a blade as it locked onto Simon.
“What's that supposed to mean? The Kent family made a public offer-clear terms, thirty million if | saved him.
I've already pulled him back from death’s door, and now you want to weasel out of it?”
Gordon looked visibly embarrassed. He quickly stepped forward to smooth things over. “Doctor, please don’t
misunderstand. My brother's just worried about our father. He didn’t mean anything else by it.”
