As my stomach filled, | slowed down. That's when he chuckled. “Full already? If not, we can order more.”

My embarrassment deepened. After swallowing, | muttered, “Yeah, | am-"
Unfortunately, the water was the tipping point. | let out a long belch that was strong enough to almost make me
vomit my food.

His smile widened.
Embarrassed, | grumbled, “What's so funny?”
“You looked like a hamster just now,” he replied.
| was at a loss for how to respond.
Thankfully, Soren shifted back to seriousness. “Alright, | should get to the point. Are you sure you can visit the
Kenway residence tomorrow?”
| nodded a little stiffly. “I think so.”
“Think so?”
“We can’t predict the future, can we? So | can’t be 100% sure.”
As | said that, | couldn’t help but wonder what kind of trouble Cameron might stir up. But that wasn’t what Soren
heard. He thought | was still upset.

“No.”

| waited, letting him continue.
“It seems like I'm the only one trying since the beginning of our relationship-or should | say, even before it
