Chapter 166: Chapter 166: He is my Man.
Serena’s POV~
The next morning cquietly.
Her room was still strange to her, but she had managed to sleep well enough. Yesterday had gone
smoothly...dinner with her father, and Vaelen had been simple but fine. Without any awkwardness or big words.
Just food, a few exchanges, and then goodnight. For her, that was already a relief.
But today... she had no idea how to begin.
She sat on the bed for a while, staring at the faint light coming through the curtains. What was she supposed to
do in a palace this big? What was her place here?
Her thoughts turned back to Vaelen’s words from last night. He had told her that if she wanted, she could come
see the training ground in the morning. She remembered how his eyes had lit up when he spoke about it...
That thought stirred something inside her.
Training.
Yes, she wanted that. More than anything, she didn’t want to rely only on her witch blood. She wanted to be
strong in her own right. To fight, to defend, and to stand with her physical powers. That was something she had
always carried with her. Even when she lived with her mother, she had always practiced in the morning. She
didn’t want that habit to die.
So, she made her decision.
She changed into simple training clothes... nothing fancy. After asking a passing servant where the grounds
were, she made her way out.
The air was fresh and pleasant when she arrived. She could hear it before she even saw it...grunts, shouts, the
sound of bodies hitting the ground, and the powerful thud of fists colliding.
And then the sight unfolded in front of her.
Dozens of werewolves were in combat. Swere in human form, and sof them have already shifted. Their
speed, their strength, and their raw aggression filled the entire training ground. Serena froze for a moment,
watching with wide, curious eyes.
It would be a lie if she said she wasn’t impressed.
And she knew these weren't ordinary warriors. They were palace guards, the Lycan’s chosen fighters. Their
strength was in another league entirely. Every strike was sharp, every movement precise.
Her eyes couldn't help but notice the hard lines of muscle, the power etched into every body. And the fact that
so many of them wore almost nothing didn’t make it easier. They didn’t care about nudity, clearly. But she was

In between too many strangers...for a second she wondered if she had made a mistake coming here.
But then... her eyes caught one of them.
One fighter stood out.
He was locked in combat with another, and the way he moved was different. His kicks landed with brutal
precision, and in one swift motion he had knocked his opponent down. Before the man could even rise, he was
already standing over him like he was teaching through every blow.
Serena's eyes refused to look away.
She caught herself almost whispering in her mind, If he had punched like this earlier, the fight would've ended in
one blow. She didn’t even notice when her lips curved slightly. She was... admiring.
But then...
A voice brushed right behind her ear.
"Well, you're staring quite hard, aren't you?"
Serena flinched so suddenly that her heart jumped. She turned, only to find a woman standing close. A beautiful
woman, almost her age, maybe older. And she was gorgeous, with striking features that could've made Serena
admire her... if not for the expression twisting her face. That scowl look drowned out all beauty.
Serena froze. She had no idea who this girl was.
Before she could even ask, the woman stepped forward and threatened her in a low voice.
"You are not allowed to look at him."
Serena blinked. "What?"
The girl sneered. "He is mine. Do you hear me? Mine. We've been together since childhood. He is already
engaged to me. How dare you look at my man like that?"
Her words hit Serena like a slap. She stood there with a stunned and speechless expression. She pointed toward
the fighter in disbelief. "Him?"
"Yes," the woman snapped with a proud tilt of her chin. "Vaelen, he is my man. Don’t even think about it."
Serena’s mouth opened, but no words came. What the hell...? When did she ever look at him like that? She had
only admired his combat, nothing else. And for God's sake...he was her brother.
Just as Serena tried to explain, the sound of heavy footsteps rushed closer.
Vaelen ccharging toward them, his body still burning from the fight, but his eyes fixed sharply on the two of
them. In one move, he stepped right between Serena and the girl, shielding Serena with his presence. His voice
was filled with irritation as he addressed her.
"What are you doing here, Arlena?"

He turned, almost ready to lead Serena away, but Arlena’s shrill voice cut through the air.
"What the hell is this? Who is she?" Her eyes burned into Serena. "So now you've found another bitch after that
bitch died?"
Vaelen froze at the mention of her, and before he knew it, his rage shot through him like fire.

The disgust in his tone was enough to silence the training ground for a moment. And everyone knew the threat
was real; he never lies.
