Chapter 358 His classmates saw how coldly he'd turned on them, and panic set in. After all, the CEO of Foster & Co. was not someone they could afford to cross.
"This has nothing to do with us! Asher, you're the one who told us to go to Suite 101," one of them protested. "Bullshit! I told you to go to 107. You went to the wrong room, so don't blme for your screw-up!" Asher snapped back.
"Don't lie! You were pretending to have Mr. Foster's backing to impress people." Sean had no patience for their squabbling. He cut in, voice icy. "You're Asher, the sales manager? Consider yourself fired." Asher's eyes went wide with shock.
"Mr. Foster, please, I didn't mean to, just giveone more chance. I'm begging you!" "Give you a chance?" Sean's gaze was razor-sharp. "Did any of you give my fiancée a chance to explain herself?" At that, everyone's faces flushed with shame.
Sean turned to Jeffry Moore, who was standing behind him. "Send out a notice. Any company that does business with Foster & Co.-if they hire Asher, they're choosing to be my enemy. Make sure everyone understands." Asher's knees nearly buckled. He knew he was finished.
Sean then turned to the manager of the Grandeur Hotel. "Since they love cake so much, let's make sure they get their fill-order a five-tier cake for each of them, every day, for a month. No one leaves until the cake is finished." With that, he swept Claire up in his arms and strode out of the suite, leaving the others trembling in terror.
Cake might be delicious, but being forced to eat a five-tier cake every day for a month? That was practically a death sentence. Worse, cake was notorious for packing on the pounds. None of them dared imagine what they'd look like after this ordeal.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSean had just reached the front entrance of the hotel with Claire in his arms when Liam and Mandy Shaw appeared.
Mandy's heart lurched when she saw Claire's disheveled state. "What happened to Claire?" May, eyes red from crying, quickly filled her in on everything that had happened in the suite. Mandy's fists clenched tight.
Was Claire skind of mafor jerks? Why did trouble always find her? Mr. Foster's punishment had been far too lenient.
Mandy's gaze turned steely. These people needed to be taught a lesson they'd never forget-one only she could deliver.
A cold, dangerous light flickered in Mandy's eyes.
Liam, standing beside her, frowned. He'd seen Mandy's methods before: brutal, merciless, and far from legal.
He grabbed her arm, shaking his head in warning.
Mandy jerked her arm free and marched straight for the suite.
Inside, Mandy's butterfly knife spun between her fingers, its blade catching the light and glinting as coldly as her expression.
The hotel manager had already arranged for the cakes.
"Well? What are you waiting for? Eat!" Mandy's voice was icy, devoid of any warmth.
Asher, nearly in tears, broke off a huge chunk of cake with trembling fingers and stuffed it into his mouth. His cheeks puffed out like a frog's as he struggled to chew, until he started choking, his eyes rolling back as he made gurgling noises.
Desperation and pleading filled his gaze as he looked at Mandy, but her eyes only grew colder.
Before he could recover, Mandy kicked him hard in the leg. Asher collapsed to his knees with a loud thud, the cake tumbling from his hands to the floor.
"Pick it up and eat it," Mandy ordered, pressing the tip of her butterfly knife to his throat until a thin line of blood appeared.
Terrified, Asher obeyed, scraping the dirty cake off the floor and forcing it down.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmScarlet could hardly believe her misfortune. That wretched Mandy was friends with Claire after all.
First, Mandy had stolen Normand from her. Now Claire had taken Sean-her next target-right from under her nose.
These two shameless witches were her nemesis.
Staring at the mountain of cakes in front of her, Scarlet's stomach m churned. She forced herself to take a bite, but the overwhelming sweetness made her gag. She couldn't hold back. "Ugh—” She retched, vomiting up the cake she'd just eaten, only to meet Mandy's cold, knife-like stare.
"I told you-whatever you throw up, you eat it," Mandy said flatly.
In utter despair, Scarlet sobbed as she scooped up the mess, hands shaking and stuffed it back in her mouth; her face smeared with cake and bile-a pitiful sight.
Mac Brown and the woman in the red dress looked pale as ghosts, their stomachs so full they felt ready to burst. With each bite of cake, it felt like their insides would split open.
